{Blogger to WordPress Migration Tips}
Step 1): Think some creative domain name, if done then proceed with hosting. We recommend you to host your website on SiteGround WordPress hosting as we are using it and happy with the service and support.
You can start with their StartUp plan and as your sites grows and getting more traffic then you can upgrade your plan in future. After selecting the hosting plan you will also get one free domain name.
Step 2: After you done with your registration process, now you have to set up your WordPress blog via cPanel. Check your login credential you received after registration, there they mentioned your cPanel login details.
Now after login in cPanel goto -> WordPress Tools -> WordPress Installer this will install WordPress quickly for your domain and you are ready to use WordPress.
Step 3: Now login to your WordPress dashboard with the username and password you created while installing WordPress. Click on Tools -> Import -> Blogger. Install Blogger Importer plugin This will import posts, comments, and users from a Blogger blog.
After installing now run the plugin, you have to ‘Authorize’ the plugin to your Blogger or Google account. WordPress will request you to give permission to manage your Blogger account you have to ‘Allow Access’. After authorization complete your blogs will appear and you have to just click ‘Import’ button on blog you want to import to WordPress.
After import has been completed you have to assign the authors for your blog post. if you prefer default author for all your blogs,m if you haven’t added any guest account on blogger then your default username will ok, but if you have post from others then you have to choose author names and assign to post. Now your WordPress blog is almost ready to rock.
Step 4: Now you have to create redirection rule, so that your Blogger visitors redirects to your new WordPress blog. You have to install Blogger to WordPress plugin.
Simple go to Plugin -> Add New -> Put Blogger To WordPress in search bar -> Install it -> Activate Plugin. This plugin handles traffic redirection part in a way that visitors will see be redirected from old Blogger.com post to same post on new WordPress.com blog on 1-to-1 basis. Step 5: After activating the plugin you have to configure it, this you can do by going to Tools -> Blogger to WordPress Redirection -> Start Configuration. Plugin will find your blogger blog post in your current WordPress installation you have to click on ‘Get Code’ button to get the code and copy the generated code.
Now login to your Blogger dashboard and goto ‘Templates‘ and click on ‘Edit HTML’. Copy all the text in HTML editor and replace with the previous copied code and ‘Save Template‘
Now go back to your WordPress dashboard and click ‘Verify Configuration’ button. If the test successful you have completed the Blogger to WordPress migration successfully. Now your Blogger blog will redirect to your new WordPress blog and all the post and links will redirect to your new WordPress blog page.
Step 6: Moving from Blogger to WordPress, the URL of your RSS feed will change. So you have to edit it by going to Blogger Dashboard -> Settings -> Other and choose Post Feed Redirect URL. Put the web address of your new WordPress RSS feed and the existing RSS subscriber will automatically move to your new RSS feed.
If you already having FeedBurner account and using it for your Blogger RSS feed, then you have simply, just replace the source from Blogger RSS feed to your new WordPress RSS feed.
