If you want to take your pics or videos then you always need someone to hold your camera and take shots. This happen many time when taking family pictures or videos, most memorable moments in our life. But the person who capture the shots, missed it. So to sort out this issue, the self-flying drone ‘Lily Camera‘ founded by students of Berkeley in the US.
Meet Lily, a self flying drone fitted with camera which record your videos, capture your stills and follows you. Using Lily is so simple, no setup required. Just throw Lily in the air to start a new video.
Just turn on your Lily camera, make sure you have the tracking device with you (it will automatically turn on when Lily turns on), and throw Lily in the air. By default, Lily will start following you and recording a video as soon as you throw it in the air. You can set Lily’s behavior-after-takeoff in the companion app. Focus on your activity while Lily flies itself to capture your adventures. Lily’s optics are finely tuned to capture stunning pictures and videos from the skies.
Lily’s body is sealed and its motors are insulated. This makes Lily waterproof and helps in floating or land it in water. You can carry this cute drone, anywhere you go, it’s perfectly designed to fit easily in any backpack and handle high winds when flying.
Let’s check out interview with Antoine Balaresque, CEO and Co-Founder at Lily Robotics.
Q1: How all this started? What makes you think of creating Lily camera?
In summer 2013, I went on a touristic trip in Europe with my family. I was seating in the back of the car browsing through pictures and videos when I realized that my mother was missing from all of them. Why? She was always holding the camera.
I came back to Berkeley and started hacking quadcopters with my co-founder Henry. Henry, who has been passionate about personal robotics since kindergarten, got just as excited as I was about this idea. We incorporated Lily Robotics in January 2014 and moved to our first office, a garage in Atherton.
Q2: How Lily camera will be beneficial to customers?
Lily lets anyone create cinematic content previously reserved for professional filmmakers. It is a new tool that lets you be more creative and do things that were never possible before.
Q3: What was the best feature you love in Lily camera?
Throw and Go! Just throw Lily in the air to start a new video :)
Q4: When Lily camera will be available in market and how much it will cost?
We are selling the Lily Camera for $499 until June 15th, 2015, then it will progressively increase up to the regular retail price of $999.
You may pre-order Lily for just $499 until June 15th, 2015 after that it will sell on regular retail price of $999. Lily camera will start shipping in February 2016.
