It’s time to wearable technology with more advanced sensors. Earlier you only able to explore virtual reality, now you not only explore but also able to touch and feel it.
Gloveone enables users to feel and touch any virtual object that they can see on the screen or in their VR headsets. If a virtual apple is shown on the screen, with Gloveone you will be able to feel its shape or weight, sense all of its physical features, and even smash it!
It is all about translating touch sensations into vibrations. There are 10 actuators distributed along the palm and fingertips of Gloveone, which vibrate independently at different frequencies and intensities, reproducing accurate touch sensations.
Founded in 2012 by Luis Castillo and Francisco Nieto, NeuroDigital Technologies has been always committed to excellence and innovation. And since our first steps our company has pursued to democratize the access to technology. Thus, working in the development of Serious & Fun Games, soon we became aware that multisensory stimulation, particularly haptic feedback, was essential to have a really impressive experience in Virtual Reality.
Creating a cheap, comfortable and reliable haptic device that makes possible to touch and feel Virtual Reality with your fingers was a dream for a small and young startup company that has become true with Gloveone. We just wish everyone can enjoy the infinite possibilities of our haptic glove and let their imagination fly.
Gloveone also includes a 9-Axis IMU sensor so you could make use of those data to improve the experience with Gloveone. It allows you to execute commands just by touching your fingers. Four sensors located in your palm, thumb, index and middle fingers detect the contact between them, and can be used to fire a gun, grab a petal or to control the menu. Unlike other gesture recognition systems, contact-triggered commands do not suffer from false positives or negatives, which can be very frustrating for the users.
The prototype of the product is done and team created a Kickstarter page to finance manufacturing the gloves. Gloveone final retail product cost $199, you have to wait till Feb 2016 to get your hands on.
